We place a large importance on growing the talents of our team members. We know that when our employees learn and grow, the Rocket Companies® does the same.

That’s why we go ALL IN for October, the Learning and Development month.

What Is Learning And Development Month?

Every October is national Learning and Development Month. Several programs are set up for team members to use their time to grow their knowledge and skills. The Rocket Companies® offers its team members 24 Professional Development Hours to use every year. Team members can take a break from their roles and invest time in growth.

What Different Programs Are Offered?

A variety of programs are offered for Learning and Development Month, ranging from microlearnings to trainings. Topics covered seek to help build our team members into well-rounded, good human beings.

Diversity And Inclusion

As part of our commitment to diversity and inclusion, we have several educational opportunities offered for Learning and Development Month. These include:

  1. New D&I Allyship Training – A facilitated training for team members and leaders who want to be an ally to team members and clients that may not belong to the same groups as they do.
  2. New D&I Microlearnings – Quick trainings that team members can take to boost their awareness.
  3. Real Talk Series – Monthly videos by leaders discussing pressing cultural topics.
  4. Rock FOC Women’s Conference for All – A 2-day virtual conference covering development, inclusion, wellness and personal finance from the perspective of women in the workplace.

Rocket Academy

As part of our everyday commitment to growth, Rocket Academy gives our team members the opportunity to pursue their career and their degree at the same time. Team Members can choose from a wide network of schools and programs to get 100% tuition upfront for select in-network programs or get reimbursed up to $5,250 for any out-of-network program. Opportunities range from getting a high school diploma to earning an undergraduate or master’s degree and more.

Dev.Build() Prep Workshops

Our Dev.Build() program is geared toward opening opportunities for our team members in the field of software engineering. The program focuses on on-the-job training to give our team members a chance at a new career.

The next Dev.Build() session doesn’t start until next year. That’s why we’re offering prep courses through our friends at Grand Circus. Prep classes include:

  1. Intro to Coding
  2. Intro to Front-End
  3. Intro to C#

The Mortgage Process

We want every team member to fully understand the mortgage process, whether they’re in Servicing, IT or Marketing. That’s why we offer a virtual Mortgages For All training class. It covers all aspects of the mortgage process and how the company fits in the process.

Topics include:

  1. What a mortgage is
  2. The difference between refinancing and purchasing a home
  3. Marketing and lead generation
  4. Client engagement, qualifying income, property, assets and credit information
  5. Fresh Start consulting
  6. Application and account processing
  7. Underwriting and solution consulting
  8. Servicing and selling loans

We believe strongly in the value of investing in our team members. The growth of the Rocket Companies® is directly tied to individuals learning and innovating. Learning and Development Month is one month out of 12 where we focus on growing our team, but most of these programs are offered year-round.
