Introducing Professional Development Hours And How They Work
1-Minute ReadUPDATED: February 27, 2024
This year has been a whirlwind year for our business. In July 2020, J.D. Power ranked Rocket Mortgage® #1 for Mortgage Servicing,1 meaning we continue to deliver on our promise to serve our clients all while shattering records in our industry.
While we take pride in crushing our business goals, it’s also important that we all take time to focus on our personal and professional development.
Many of our team members voiced feedback to us that they didn’t have enough devoted time in their schedule to dedicate to growing their skills, so we did something about it!
Introducing Professional Development Hours
We are enthusiastic about the personal success of our team members and going forward, all full-time and part-time team members will be promised designated Professional Development hours to attend company sponsored (non-mandatory) growth and development opportunities. This is to ensure that every team member has the time they need to grow in their current role.
What Exactly Are Professional Development Hours?
Professional Development hours are dedicated hours for you to acquire skills and knowledge during the workday. This program helps you expand your knowledge base, achieve your goals and continue to grow while on company time.
How Does This Work?
Team members can utilize Professional Development hours to attend in-house (non-mandatory) events without having to clock out. Like PTO, team members make requests with their team leaders and have up to 24 Professional Development hours to use each year. Part-time team members will have 12 Professional Development hours per year to use.
Examples of ways to utilize your Professional Development hours include:
- Rocket Companies® Mental Health Summit
- Rocket Companies® Women’s Conference
- Detroit Demo Day
- The Leader to Leader Program
- Rocket Companies® TechCon
And more!
Imagine how far you could go if you worked at a company that not only offered professional development opportunities, but ensured you had the time at work to pursue those opportunities and hone your skills? We’re proud to make sure every team member has the time they deserve to work on themselves, perfect their craft and become better leaders.
If you’re not currently a Rocket Companies® team member then what are you waiting for?
