How Rocket Mortgage’s newest ad campaign is helping end veteran homelessness

Here at Rocket Mortgage®, we simplify the home financing and home sale processes for people nationwide, so we understand how important housing is to communities we call home. That’s why in 2018 we became the lead partner for Built for Zero, a nationwide movement to end homelessness with over 80 participating communities across the U.S.
What is built for zero?
Through this partnership, we’ve learned that the experience of homelessness can feel like living in the shadows, so that’s where the Built for Zero movement comes in. Built for Zero is more than just a housing program, it’s a network of communities with one mission: ending homelessness with a solution based, measurable approach that achieves dramatic results and ensures a home for every veteran.
Communities across America are achieving dramatic results that not only help veterans experiencing homelessness get back on their feet, but also inspire them to join the movement themselves.
How this ad is more than just another commercial
This cause inspired our latest ad campaign, titled Shadows. In this spot, you won’t see an actor, you’ll watch U.S. Marine Corps veteran John Meier recount his experience with homelessness. John is now a Built for Zero leader within the community of Abilene, Texas helping to house veterans daily.
The community of Abilene is one of 12 communities that has successfully ended veteran homelessness with Built for Zero. To learn more about this community’s success and our ongoing commitment to end veteran homelessness, visit AHomeForEveryVet.org.
