A Look At Life As A Rocket Mortgage® Remote Banker

When I was first contacted by a recruiter from Rocket Mortgage^® in September of 2018, I was excited. I was asked to pioneer a new project to unite the most prestigious bankers remotely to join the banker force. America’s largest mortgage lender?¹ Rocket Mortgage?! Yes, I would love to!  

Rocket Mortgage has a strong culture which is built on the foundation of ISMs. They define who we are as a company, a team and as individuals. The winning formula is when you truly embody the ISMs and use their philosophy as a guide in not only your career but in your personal life. You’ll see it when you believe it. It is not difficult while working remotely to be energized by the culture that thrives at Rocket Mortgage. 

I love my career at Rocket Mortgage. It is easy to show up to work every day when you have the opportunity to help change so many people’s lives. I truly believe in the foundation Rocket Mortgage is built upon. It makes it that much easier for me to be so proud and believe in what I am able to do for my clients while working from home.  

I strongly believe that working from home leads to increased productivity. For example, you don’t have a teammate who constantly tries to talk to you while trying to work. With the elimination of distractions, I am able to fully dedicate my day to my clients to provide them with superior service backed by Rocket Mortgage.  I also really enjoy not having to commute to work every day.  

I am so grateful for the opportunity to grow as an individual, grow my career and grow with the company. I never would have thought I’d have the opportunity to work for Rocket Mortgage from the comfort of my home state of Texas.

Though my leadership team is centralized in Detroit and my team members are spread throughout the U.S., staying connected has never been an issue. At first I imagined working from home would have me feeling as if I was on a deserted island, left to figure stuff out on my own. I was pleased and instantly put at ease thanks to the amazing technology that helps us feel connected and as if we were all seated next to each other in the office. With daily meetings, weekly regional huddles and end-of-month meetings with awards, you feel equally part of the Rocket Mortgage family at your home as you would if you were physically there in the office. 

Being able to compete with elite bankers across the country fuels my competitive nature. Working with the best bankers makes me proud to call them my team members. Leadership is only a Teams message, Zoom call or phone call away. As one of the ISMs goes, “Obsessed With Finding A Better Way,” the leadership team goes above and beyond to see where opportunity may exist. They support us with access to extra trainings, one-on-ones and more to help you grow­ –everyone wants everyone to win and reach their full potential. The tools and resources are always available if you need them which has helped me flourish and have increased productivity with each passing day.

To be able to work full time and be able to have a work-life balance is often unheard of. With the remote job at Rocket Mortgage, this is possible and I am still in awe as this was not the case with past employers.  

Hard work, dedication and attention to detail are incredibly important in structuring your day from returning clients’ voicemails, texts, emails and conversing with new clients to help. I operate at a high level and need very little direction on a day-to-day basis. I also love helping people, changing lives and doing mortgages for clients that some may not have even dreamed possible. This has made my remote position with Rocket Mortgage rewarding and extremely valuable. 

You don’t have to live in Detroit, Cleveland or Phoenix to experience what it is to be part of the Rocket Mortgage family. I have been provided with an opportunity of a lifetime that has been life changing for my family and myself, one that I cherish each and every single day.
